Job Description

In this role, you will provide critical support to technical staff and perform administrative duties as directed by the customer and Site Manager. Operating with minimal supervision, your responsibilities will include dispatching technicians, managing databases, and maintaining communication with the customer to ensure efficient conveyor line operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Dispatch technicians to address issues on the conveyor line and create work orders for necessary repairs.
  • Follow company regulations and procedures, adhering to management instructions.
  • Provide telephone reception for the maintenance site as needed.
  • Use initiative to address issues promptly or refer them to appropriate authorities to minimize conveyor line outages.
  • Create, update, and manage databases and spreadsheets related to the maintenance site administration.
  • Run reports as requested or scheduled, and maintain operational communication with the customer.
  • Document daily functions, outages, and statistics related to the conveyor system.
  • Maintain an accurate flight table with customer assistance, making temporary and/or permanent corrections as needed.
  • Assist in clearing jams from the baggage handling system.
  • Foster positive relationships with co-workers, supervisors, and customers.
  • Manage parts inventory and perform data entry in the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
  • Complete all assigned safety training and adhere to ELS safety programs, policies, and procedures.
  • Perform additional duties and assignments as required by management.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Ability to work non-traditional hours, including weekends and holidays.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in an airport environment.
  • Effective communication skills with customers, TSA, and airline representatives.
  • Knowledge of industrial safety practices.
  • Typing speed of at least 30 WPM.
  • Proficiency in speaking clearly over a two-way radio system.
  • Strong customer service, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Familiarity with CMMS, MS Office, and baggage system user interfaces.
  • Previous warehousing and inventory experience.
  • Knowledge of baggage handling systems.
  • Ability to pass a basic mechanical/electrical aptitude test.
  • Experience with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
  • Basic accounting and budgeting skills.

  • Clear and concise communication skills, both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to work under pressure and complete training promptly.

Computer Skills:
Basic knowledge of computers, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel), and the ability to manage emails and complete training.

Other Requirements:

  • Must read, write, speak, and understand English.
  • Must obtain and maintain an Airport Security badge.
  • Valid driver’s license required, with insurance coverage under the company policy.
  • Compliance with the ELS Drug and Alcohol policy.

Physical Demands:

  • Frequent sitting and handling/fingering tasks.
  • Occasional standing, walking, and driving.
  • Infrequent lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs.
  • Works in an airport terminal environment with exposure to dust, dirt, and noise.

Work Environment:
The role involves working in an airport terminal, which may include conditions with dust, dirt, and noise, though generally below OSHA’s action levels.
