Job Description

Aronimink Golf Club, one of the world’s premier country clubs, is seeking an Assistant General Manager (AGM) with expertise in managing high-end food and beverage operations in private clubs or luxury hospitality settings. This role is an excellent stepping stone for those aiming for a future General Manager/COO position.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee daily club operations, particularly focusing on food and beverage services.
  • Collaborate closely with the General Manager/COO and lead department heads.
  • Develop and manage a high-performing team, ensuring top-notch service and hospitality.
  • Maintain high standards for service quality, cleanliness, and member satisfaction.
  • Plan and execute member events, ensuring seamless operations.
  • Oversee health and safety programs for the club.

Qualifications:

  • Strong leadership and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities.
  • Proven experience in high-end club or hospitality management.
  • Financial management skills, including budgeting and forecasting.
  • Familiarity with modern club innovations and trends.
  • Valid driver’s license and relevant certifications.

Founded in 1896, Aronimink Golf Club boasts a renowned Donald Ross-designed golf course and a rich history of excellence. The club offers a variety of sporting activities, including golf, tennis, swimming, and more, with top-notch facilities to support these activities. The club is located about thirty minutes from downtown Philadelphia and is recognized as one of the top golf courses in the country.

Position Details:

  • Reports to: General Manager/COO
  • Direct Reports: Clubhouse Manager, Executive Chef, Director of Fitness, Aquatics Manager
  • Key Initiatives:
    • Develop strong relationships with club leaders and team members.
    • Lead strategically with a focus on service excellence.
    • Enhance food displays and buffet presentations.
    • Oversee new club outlet openings and ongoing construction projects.
    • Ensure exceptional member experiences.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Minimum five years of progressive leadership experience in a high-end environment.
  • Strong background in lifestyle programming and private club experience.
  • Experience in financial management, HR policies, and best practices within the club industry.
  • Familiarity with NorthStar POS and IT/AV systems.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • A bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Business, or a related field is preferred.
