About the Role

As a Retail Customer Service Officer, you’ll play a crucial role in supporting Australians and their businesses, helping to keep millions of people connected and strengthening our communities. With nearly one million customers visiting our Australia Post Offices each year, you’ll be part of the team ensuring every visit is a positive experience. You’ll be supported by a welcoming team, receive ongoing training, and have access to career development opportunities.

Role Details:

  • Pay Rate: Starts at $26.42 per hour, increasing to $28.24 after 3 months of training (junior rates apply for those under 21)
  • Additional Benefits: 12% Superannuation and a pay rise due mid-September!
  • Training: Paid on-the-job training for up to 12 weeks
  • Hours: 25 hours per week on a rotating roster, Monday to Friday, between 8:45 am – 5:06 pm
  • Flexibility: We’re looking for someone who can step up to full-time hours as needed
  • Seasonal Shifts: Saturday morning shifts may be available as we approach the Christmas period

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide excellent customer service by handling sales and service transactions
  • Accurately process high-value transactions including cash, cheques, credit cards, and EFTPOS
  • Conduct and process identity services transactions, such as Australian Passport Interviews
  • Promote our products and services through up-selling, cross-selling, and merchandising
  • Assist customers with mail lodgments and associated costs
  • Build strong relationships with customers by understanding and meeting their needs
  • Perform administrative tasks, including stocktaking and record maintenance

About You

You are a friendly, enthusiastic, and reliable individual who enjoys working in a team environment. You’re dedicated to putting the customer at the center of everything you do, making a positive difference in the community. Additionally, you should:

  • Have experience in customer service and/or cash handling
  • Be physically fit to regularly lift up to 16kgs of mail and stand throughout your shift
