Role Overview:
As a Support Worker, you will assist care-experienced young people in developing independent living skills and transitioning to mainstream tenancy. Your role will involve mentoring, leading service projects, and supporting individuals with employment, training, home management, budgeting, and social development. A person-centred approach will be essential in providing practical, emotional, and social support to enhance quality of life.
Main Duties & Responsibilities:
- Support the development of skills, confidence, and self-esteem in individuals
- Participate in care planning, reviews, and assessments with a focus on individual needs
- Aid in developing life management and independent living skills
- Help individuals achieve educational, training, or employment goals
- Encourage community participation and involvement in daily decision-making
- Build and maintain positive working relationships with individuals and the team
Additional Requirements:
- Willingness to work shifts, including evenings and every other weekend (flexible working patterns can be discussed)
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written
- Full manual driving license and access to a vehicle for work purposes
- PVG scheme membership required
