Job Description

At Columbia Sportswear, our associates play a crucial role in delivering exceptional customer experiences across our global network of over 430 retail stores. Your role as a Retail Associate involves representing our brand, assisting customers with their needs, and supporting store operations to align with our mission of “Connecting Active People with Their Passions.”

Key Responsibilities:

In this role, you will maintain high standards of store presentation, including visual merchandising, cleanliness, and safety. You’ll restock the sales floor by retrieving merchandise from stockrooms and other inventory locations. Efficiently handling cash register transactions, including sales, returns, and exchanges, will be part of your duties. You’ll also introduce customers to our loyalty programs and help them with their buying decisions by providing detailed product information and answering questions. Contributing to store profitability through accurate product processing and adhering to Columbia Sportswear’s values will be essential. Additionally, you’ll need to stay informed about products, policies, and procedures to effectively perform daily operations.

What We’re Looking For:

  • No specific educational requirements, but a High School Diploma or GED is preferred.
  • Up to 2 years of experience in a retail or customer service role.
  • Ability to interact with and serve customers effectively.
  • Proficiency with inventory and point-of-sale (POS) systems and other retail software.
  • Must be 16 years of age or older.

Job Conditions:

The role involves frequent physical activity, including lifting items up to 40 lbs and working with specialized equipment. You should be able to communicate clearly and be available for a flexible retail schedule, which may change seasonally or based on business trends. Adherence to all local, state, and federal laws regarding availability is required.
