Role Summary:
As a Volunteer Resources Coordinator, you will play a pivotal role in enhancing volunteer management for Peel Public Health, Long Term Care, and Seniors Services. This position involves overseeing the complete volunteer process—recruitment, training, placement, and recognition—to support various client programs and services effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess Volunteer Needs: Partner with Health Services to evaluate and anticipate volunteer needs across divisional programs.
- Develop Role Descriptions: Craft precise and tailored volunteer position descriptions and Placement Description contracts.
- Recruitment Strategy: Implement and manage strategies for volunteer recruitment, including community outreach initiatives.
- Engage and Retain Volunteers: Promote volunteer engagement, apply risk management best practices, and develop strategies for long-term retention.
- Create Promotional Materials: Develop content and marketing materials for volunteer programs, including web content.
- Screen and Train Volunteers: Conduct interviews to assess candidates, deliver comprehensive orientation, and provide specialized training.
- Manage Volunteer Placement: Assign volunteers to appropriate roles, conduct follow-ups to gauge satisfaction, and evaluate the success of volunteer programs.
- Report and Recognize: Prepare summaries of volunteer activities, analyze feedback, and assist in creating recognition programs for outstanding volunteers.
Qualifications:
- Education and Experience: University degree with 2-3 years of experience in volunteer management. Certification in PAVR-O/CAVR is an asset.
- Skills and Abilities:
- Strong customer-focused approach with the ability to engage and motivate volunteers.
- Excellent relationship-building skills with internal teams and community stakeholders.
- Effective time management and the capability to handle multiple priorities.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio) and other relevant software.
- Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certificate in Volunteer Resource Management from Humber College.
- Experience in a similar role within the pharmaceutical/biotech sector or financial functions.
- Familiarity with global company operations.
Work Environment:
- Hybrid Work Arrangement: You will work both remotely and on-site at 7120 Hurontario Street, Mississauga, with occasional visits to other regional locations as needed.
